European Taekwondo Connect Weekend

The purpose of this project is to organise an European weekend of joint activities and training sessions in 5 participating clubs.The event will be streamed on large screens in the participating clubs and online.A team of 5 members per club will perform in one of the partner clubs during this weekend.

The aim of this project is to connect our clubs, members and the general audience through digital means and new multimedia learning technologies during original and creative activities.

Problem

Taekwondo is a sport where few resources are available.The training conditions must be improved, particularly with regard to safety.Practitioners often come from immigrant and less privileged backgrounds.Taekwondo for girls should be encouraged.The use of new technologies and mobility are currently low.

Methodology

  1. Our consortium of 5 clubs (from Spain, Italy, Greece and Belgium) will organise a joint weekend of training and events for athletes and the general audience. Specific workshops will be held on safety and injury prevention.Training sessions and activities will be streamed by each member of the consortium.

  3. In order to promote the mobility of athletes and coaches, a team of 5 people per entity will discover the facilities of one of the project partners during the weekend.

We will encourage the participation of young sportswomen and disadvantaged youthin our activities and mobility.

Number of direct beneficiaries of the project for the weekend: 1000 and 50 coaches practitioners in the clubs.

The streamed videos will be accessible for free to after the end of the project.

Number of beneficiaries of the videos : several thousands of sportsmen and women in the EU.

Exploitation and continuation of the project after funding : the objective will be to realise several European connection weekends each year and to involve in particular the academic world.
